What is a perfume decant and why try one before a full bottle

A perfume decant is a small amount of original perfume transferred from the official bottle into a smaller glass spray bottle. It is the same fragrance from the same bottle, just in a smaller volume. Decants are most often 5 ml or 10 ml.

Why buy a decant at all?

A luxury perfume often costs between 150 and 400 euros a bottle. When you buy blind, based only on a description or a few seconds with a paper strip in a shop, the risk of not liking it after a day of wear is high. A decant solves exactly that problem.

  • You test in real conditions. You wear the scent for several days on your own skin, at work, in the evening, in cold and warm weather.
  • You save money. Instead of paying hundreds of euros for a bottle that may end up in a cupboard, you pay a small part of the price.
  • You try more fragrances. With the budget for one bottle you can build a whole small collection of decants.
  • It is convenient for travel. The atomiser is small and light, fits in a pocket or bag and takes no space in your luggage.

Is the perfume in a decant original?

With us, yes. Every SwiftScent decant is made from an original bottle bought from proven sources. For every product you will also see the batch code of the bottle the decant was filled from. We do not offer replicas, "inspired by" scents or imitations.

Decants of discontinued and rare perfumes

Some fragrances are no longer produced or are sold only in certain countries. For them a decant is often the only realistic way to experience them without paying a collector's price for a full bottle. That is why in our shop you will see rarity levels that show how hard each fragrance is to find.

How to get started

If you do not know where to start, browse our best selling decants or choose by brand on the Brands page. Take 5 ml to try, and if a scent becomes your favourite, 10 ml is the next step.
