Colonia is the signature scent of Acqua di Parma and one of the most iconic Italian colognes in the world. A fresh, sunny and timeless fragrance, born in 1916 in Parma. It pairs bright citrus notes with a refined herbal heart and a warm woody base. Fun fact: Colonia was created by Baron Carlo Magnani as his personal scent and became the first Italian cologne. In the 1940s and 1950s Hollywood stars such as Cary Grant and Audrey Hepburn fell for it while filming in Italy, and the brand became a symbol of the golden age of cinema. To this day the labels are still applied to the bottles by hand.

Colonia opens bright and citrusy, with a sparkling accord of lemon, orange and bergamot. It quickly moves into a fresh herbal heart of lavender, rosemary and verbena with a soft touch of rose. The base warms up with vetiver, sandalwood and patchouli and leaves a light, elegant trail. As a classic cologne its longevity is moderate, usually around 2 to 3 hours, and its projection is delicate. It is perfect as a daytime refresher, especially in spring and summer.
